My daily, natural makeup routine is pretty much the same during my work week. I like to look put together and not like I just rolled out of bed, but at the same time, I’m always pressed for time.
The good thing about having a routine is that after so long, you get very efficient with it. I can pull off my routine in under 15 minutes and it works for me. Here’s how I get ready on the daily and don’t forget to check out the video at the end of this post.
I start by washing with Erno Laszlo’s Pore Refining Detox Double Cleanse. This product was gifted to me, but it is great so I wanted to share it with you. It’s a little out of my price range but it is something I would purchase because of the results I’ve seen.
Then, I follow that with OleHenriksen Truth Serum . Bought this during my girl’s trip while visiting a mall in Waco a few weeks back. I got a sample size just to make sure it was something I would like and I’m definitely going for the full-size when I run out. I LOVE this serum! I’ve definitely noticed a brightening effect and my skin feels amazing.
I then get my Tula Glow & Get It eye balm and run it along the bottom of my eyes. I love the cooling effect and the shimmer it leaves behind makes me look bright-eyed and bushy tailed. It’s usually sold out but if you get on the auto-ship then you will receive one every 2 months. I’ve started incorporating moisturizer in the mornings. I usually apply it at night, but I had a sample size of Tula’s Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream and I really like that it doesn’t leave me shiny and slick.
After applying my skincare serums and moisturizers, I follow up with my foundation. I used to apply SPF but I’ve yet to find one that I truly love so I just apply my foundation which has SPF 20. I found my latest foundation during a Target run to restock on my daily go-to. My shade was out of stock so I decided to try Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation in 100 Ivory. It has medium coverage and goes on like a dream. Leaves my skin looking glowy and dewy — and I love the mess-free applicator.
Moving on to the brows. I found the NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Brunette and like how easy it is to apply. The small pencil makes it easy to draw on small individual strokes to resemble your natural brows. After brows is my bronzer.
I use Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronzer. This is a crowd-favorite and for good reason. The shade is subtle, warm and blends really well — the smell is also amazing!
Next, I move on to my concealer. I use Tarte’s Creaseless Concealer and apply it more like a highlighter to highlight any areas that I want to stand out. Usually under my eyes, chin and forehead. Then you blend, blend, blend.
Blend, Blend, Blend
I use a moist sponge similar to a beauty blender to apply my makeup and also use brushes from Eco Tools — they are great and cruelty-free! The sponges are off Amazon and the quality is amazing for under $9 for a pack of 5!
After that is blush — I go between two palettes — Tarte x Aspyn Ovard Made You Blush, which unfortunately is sold out. I also use Morphe’s Blush Trio Pop of Rose in Legendary. I use the same Tarte palette as my blush for eyeshadow. This palette is gorgeous and I love all the shadows — high school sweetheart is my daily go-to. I like to use a warm beige for eyes to give them some color, but try to keep it subtle so I don’t have to waste time blending darker hues.
Then I put on my mascara. I don’t have any loyalty to any brand or product yet. Lately, its been Covergirl’s Flourish by Lash Blast in Very Black. I wish I could get more product on the wand but it is great for separating lashes. Lashblast from Covergirl is a good one to get some amazing volume.
Don’t Forget The Lips
Next, we put on some gloss. Tarte’s Sugar Rush Lip Oil in Dragon Fruit is a lovely sheer color and keeps my lips hydrated. No fuss! Finally, I finish the look by swiping some powder to minimize any shine. My latest buy is IT Cosmetic’s Bye Bye Breakout Powder. I will admit I am not “sold” on this and was kind of disappointed that I needed to re-apply numerous times throughout the day to keep the shine away. There’s a few other finishing powders I have my eye on and when I find the right one, I’ll be sure to tell you.
Well, there you have it! My daily, natural makeup routine. I love this look for summer as well because I’m able to make my bronzer more intense depending on the occasion. Are you using any of these products? If so, what do you think? I’d love to hear about it.
