Put away your beanies and wool fedoras because this summer is all about chic hair accessories. Hair accessories can make a boring pony go glam or a simple topknot stand out. The best part about the accessories I’m about to show you is that they are all affordable and I found them on Amazon.
I recently discovered an assortment of hair accessories, and it was difficult to narrow it down, but I have five that I am so rocking this season and can’t wait to share with you.
First up are these pearl barrettes that are all the rage right now, and for good reason. The over-sized clips really stand out and are great for keeping your hair out of your face. The pearl accents make it look really classy and sophisticated. I love this set that I bought of 4 different styles. They were less than $10 and really good quality. I have a lot of hair and felt that they all were able to really hold my hair in place like I wanted it too. The clip with the really big pearls is my least favorite because it’s difficult for me to get it to grab a lot of hair but the other 3 are always on repeat. These are the summer hair accessories I’ve been sporting almost daily at work.
Next are these cute scrunchies with bow detailing. It’s an upgrade from your old scrunchies circa 1990s but with the same benefits to your hair. Elastics can damage your hair by pulling and tugging at the strands, but scunchies made from softer materials, like these made of chiffon, actually protect your tresses. So not only are they hair-friendly but also look really cute! I like to create a topknot and wrap it with one of these. The bow really dresses up my tired, wack bun any day.
I saw this leopard headband while browsing Amazon and absolutely fell in love with it! I love the turban knot on the top and the silky material lining made it look so glam. Would you believe it was less than $15??!? I love headbands for when I’m running around with the girls because these make me extra-glam even when I’m sporting casual threads. Also, after cutting my hair above my shoulders, I’ve stayed away from putting my hair in a pony. I don’t like that my short hair sticks straight out so I either opt for a bun or a headband. These are super cute and I love all the options. I also bought this one because I loved the pink, floral pattern and it just screamed summer to me.
Acrylic Resin Hair Clips
Out of all my Amazon purchases, these were the most expensive. This set of 10 clips was almost $20, but worth it. I love the there are 5 different prints in 2 separate styles. The clips are great for adorning the side of a ponytail or topknot. I’ve also been clipping one near my temple to hold back my grown out bangs. It’s effortless but makes you look like you put some thought into your hairstyle. I love the colors because they are summer-ready and the acrylic resin material make them look a lot more expensive than they really are.
This hair accessories can replace your wool fedora and because it has a similar style but is a little more breezy — perfect for these hot summer months. Wide-brimmed hats are ideal when you are outdoors because they keep the sun out of your face and also help protect your hair from sun damage. These neutral colored hats can be paired with anything and are a summer must-have! I purchased my hat at Target but some others I am planning to buy.
Bonus Find- Girl’s Hair Bows
OK, OK, OK — so you could technically rock these if you wanted to but I put these on the list because they are adorable for little girls. I’ve been buying one bow here, one bow there for a few years now but never buy two of a kind. Well, Ava’s hair seems to be growing out rather weird and it makes it almost impossible to gather all her hair to put in central ponytail, so we have resorting to two pigtails to grab the short baby hairs near her forehead. So my baby’s just been wearing two elastics and it was just looking a little sad.
So I found these on Amazon and would you believe that I got 40 bows for less than $10!! WHAT. A. DEAL!! And now my baby has matching colored bows — it’s the little things. Anyways, this was an amazing deal and the bows come in all the colors of the rainbow so you don’t have to worry about it not matching to any of her outfits. They are well-made and the clips are sturdy and really hold. I have also used one to clip back a side-part so she doesn’t have hair over her eyes. These are great!
I hope some of these looks inspire you and I hope you take as much joy in wearing them as I do. I love to play up my everyday look, especially working at a bank were I have to keep hair styles a bit on the conservative side. Also love these finds because they are affordable yet very much on trend. I’ll keep my eye out for more amazing finds so don’t forget to subscribe to the blog to stay on top of all my fashion and beauty finds. Thanks for stopping by! I’ll see you all next time.
